Sweet RGV- Cupcakes for a Cause is a community event benefiting the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. It is a gathering of people who love to bake and eat cupcakes – all for a good cause. Many have been organized around the country, but this will be the second in Texas aside from Dallas.
There is no charge or monetary profit for participating bakers. All proceeds from cupcake ticket sales will go to the Food Bank.
Here’s a quick run down of what Sweet RGV will be on Sunday, September 8th, 2013 at the Omni Event Center in Alamo from 1-5pm.
Professional Cupcake shops and bakeries as well as Amateur home bakers from around the Valley will gather together in one place- the public will get to “purchase” cupcakes from all the different bakery booths.
Entry fee is $10 (adults 6 cupcake tickets) & $5 (kids 2 cupcake tickets) for the event. Each cupcake tickets can “purchase” 1 cupcake or 2 mini cupcakes.
People will get to walk around and visit all the different cuocake bakers. To get a cupcake they – give a ticket – they get a cupcake. That’s pretty much it.
Best part is this all goes to charity. Sweet RGV will benefit The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley.
Their will also be a cupcake eating contest for adults and kids, a cupcake contest among the bakers, a fan favorite Bakery/Baker, a Cakewalk, Food, music, Moonjumps, face painting and more…
We are looking for Community Donations from the public for the cakewalk. Please contact us if you would like to donate. Cakewalk sweets can be homemade or store bought. Anyone can donate even business who may include business cards with their donations.
